The LINKS Foundation was founded in 2016 exploiting and enhancing the experience gained from the Istituto Superiore Mario Boella (ISMB) and from the Istituto Superiore on Territorial Systems for Innovation (SiTI) in the first 2 decades of the new millennium in the field of research applied and technology transfer, adding a fundamental element such as the enhancement of the research result. As part of the knowledge chain, the Foundation intends to enhance the lever of applied research, contributing to the growth of the socio-economic system by relating the academic world, the public and private sectors, activating large-scale processes and projects with significant impacts on territory. The Foundation intends to establish a dialogue with the local, national and international business entrepreneurship, in order to share and enhance knowledge, experience and innovation. The Foundation is an ideal partner for both SMEs, which can enhance the ability to develop innovation and gain competitiveness using the experience and expertise of the foundation, both of the Large Enterprises that can, in partnership with it, develop new ideas and new technologies.
Research Area: Business Model Innovation
The Business Model Innovation Area promotes the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals with a dual focus on business models and technology. In particular, the investigation activity is aimed at clarifying how new business models can be associated with the introduction of exponential technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence for the generation of competitive advantage and impact on society. The Area adopts an interdisciplinary and ecosystemic approach leveraging openness, complementarity and cross fertilization for the generation of value for private actors and for society at large. The team is composed of industrial, IT, cinema and materials engineers, as well as economists. Furthermore, 30% of the team holds a PhD, an experience that contributed to provide depth to domain-specific skills and to strengthen methodological approaches. During almost twenty years of activity, the research group has built an internationally recognized reputation in terms of strategic support to innovation, impact assessment of public policies and data exploitation through intelligent agents.

The candidate will work in a cross-organizational team that the LINKS foundation has set up with a prominent international industrial player in the field of DLT-based innovation.
