Artificial Intelligence, Smart Data, IoT, Photonics, Satellite Localization and Blockchain are just some of the technologies managed and aimed at the realization of innovative projects in different application sectors: from Industry 4.0 to Cybersecurity, from Intelligent Mobility to Agritech, from Space Applications to Medicine and Well Being, from Smart Cities to Cultural Heritage. LINKS is a Foundation born from an agreement between Compagnia di San Paolo and Politecnico di Torino that has been operating for about 20 years at national and international level in the field of applied research, innovation and technology transfer in which work about 160 researchers. Its objective is to enhance the lever of research and innovation, contribute to the growth of the socio-economic system, activate large-scale processes and projects with significant impacts on the territory and establish a dialogue with the local, national and international business fabric, with a view to sharing and enhancing knowledge, experience and innovation. Posizione

Research Area description LINKS' Future Cities & Communities (FCC) research domain supports private enterprises and Public Authorities to shape the cities and the communities of the future, accelerating the change towards innovation and sustainability, with the final goal of improving people’s quality of life. FCC is composed of around 30 researchers with complementary competencies: transport, electric, environmental and biomedial engineers, mathematicians, computer and data scientists, urban and spatial planners. FCC research is focused on 3 programmes: Mobility & Logistics, Climate, city & environment, ICT for energy & people. FCC's applied research projects are focused on: transport and mobility planning and modeling, sustainable, efficient and circular logistics, urban regeneration, user-centric planning and design, climate change and environmental impacts, environmental and energy innovation, blockchain applications and telemedicine. Description of the activity required The candidate will work at Transport modeling and planning projects, including: Development of transport optimization algorithms, Development of decision support systems (DSS), Transport macro-simulation models (eg 4-stage models), Traffic micro-simulation and multi-agent simulation, Estimation of emissions and consumption of transport, Public transport planning, Transport plans (eg from the PUMS urban scale to the PRT regional scale). The work will be included in the framework of European projects with international partners coming from premier companies.

Requisiti

MSc degree in Civil Engineering - Transport, Management and Production Engineering, Mathematical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent Knowledge of transport planning; Good in Python programming language and strong interest in learning new languages and software tools; Creative, proactive attitude joint with interest in working on development of innovative solutions; Ability to work in a team and independently; Proficient English level (both written and oral) One or more of the following is considered a plus: Knowledge of transport models (i.e. macrosimulation, microsimulation, agent-based models) Knowledge of operational research and optimization methods PHD; Experience abroad
