5G, Cooperative and connected vehicles technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Smart Data, IoT, Photonics, Satellite Localization and Blockchain are just some of the technologies managed and aimed at the realization of innovative projects in different application sectors: from Industry 4.0 to Cybersecurity, from Intelligent Mobility to Agritech, from Space Applications to Medicine and Well Being, from Smart Cities to Cultural Heritage.

LINKS is a Foundation born from an agreement between Compagnia di San Paolo and Politecnico di Torino that has been operating for about 20 years at national and international level in the field of applied research, innovation and technology transfer in which work about 160 researchers. Its objective is to enhance the lever of research and innovation, contribute to the growth of the socio-economic system, activate large-scale processes and projects with significant impacts on the territory and establish a dialogue with the local, national and international business fabric, with a view to sharing and enhancing knowledge, experience and innovation.

Position

The chosen candidate will be part of the Connected Systems & Cybersecurity research area focusing on the design and development of advanced network solutions according to the latest innovations introduced by 5G and 6G networks.


The prospective researcher will have the opportunity to work on actual cellular networks, focusing on implementing use cases related to connected, cooperative and autonomous vehicles that exploit the interaction with the cellular network to improve performance.


The figure will join a dynamic and young team, working on projects of international relevance and collaborating with companies from all over Europe. The candidate will have the chance to actively participate in the project activities and in the realization of real use cases with applications in the field, with the possibility of travel abroad.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess a master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, ICT Engineering for smart societies, Electronics, or any related field.

Recent graduate or recent doctorate.


Minimum requirements:


- Knowledge of the new 5G cellular network architectures

- Knowledge of object-oriented programming, data modelling and good software development skills;

- Knowledge of versioning tools (i.e. Git), Linux environment and programming languages (e.g. Python);

- Knowledge of Docker and the microservices approach;


- Fluent English, both written and oral;

- Team oriented mindset, new technologies-focused approach


One or more of the following is considered a plus:


- Knowledge of the C++ programming language

- Knowledge of orchestration tools (i.e. Kubernetes, OMS)

Other information

Basic employment agreement conditions


· fixed-term, full-time researcher agreement (18/36 months);

· terms and conditions of employment are fixed by national collective bargaining agreement (CCNL Terziario);

· maximum of 10 days of smart working per month;

· meal vouchers

· payroll scale level will be evaluated during selection process;

· Incentive Compensation Plan will follow Foundation’s policies;

· proven competencies and seniority level will be duly considered
